Top 10 Best Chainsaw ReviewsIf you have a backyard then most likely you will need a chainsaw, but finding out what the top 10 best chainsaws for 2018 can be a difficult task. Chainsaws are becoming a necessary tool for all homeowners. Just having a backyard with some trees is enough to warrant owning this incredible tool in my opinion.

Whether you need a chainsaw to just trim a few trees, or a storm has taken down a tree in your yard, or you rely on wood for heating. These pieces of equipment have improved so much over the years that I couldn’t imagine living without one (or 10).

Finding the right tool for the job is an increasingly difficult task, especially when there are so many options available on the market now days. This question has been made difficult when there are so many options to consider, do you need a gas or electric unit? Do you need a 10 inch bar or a 20 inch bar? Which brand is best to go with? How much do I need to spend? Will you be cutting massive logs for splitting, or just a light bit of trimming around the yard?

These are all important questions you should ask yourself when considering making a chainsaw purchase, especially with how expensive some units can be.

Before going over what I consider to be the top 10 chainsaws in 2018, I will go over a few things that you should consider when making a chainsaw purchase. And will hopefully give you some extra information to let you make an informed decision and find the right tool for the job.

What To Consider When Purchasing A Chainsaw

What Do You Need To Cut?What Size Chainsaw Do I Need

This is the first question you need to ask yourself when you think about what type of chainsaw to purchase. This is an important question you need to ask yourself, if you only need to cut a 5 inch tree limb, then you won’t need to spend several hundred dollars on a big gas chainsaw. This is one of the reasons I find this an important question, it can help save money and make the upfront cost more affordable. If you only need to cut some small 5 inch tree limbs then an electric chainsaw with a 10 inch bar would be fine. But if you have plans of removing some larger trees then you will want something a lot stronger.

Depending on what you cut will help make your choice a lot easier, therefore should be the first thing you work out. Small chores that are close to your house will be great for a electric unit, but if they’re further away and you don’t want several extension leads running across the yard then a battery powered unit will do nicely. With how much technology has advanced electric and battery powered units can handle a lot bigger tasks then they use to be able to. When you have some more medium sized trees and logs to deal with you can still go with those types of units, but consider a small gas unit.

But when it comes to removing larger trees that are over 20 inches in diameter you’re going to need a gas powered chainsaw. There is no way around it, especially if they are some hard wood trees. Going with a 60cc gas chainsaw will help make short work of these trees, and give you peace of mind you can handle most tasks.

Gas Vs Electric Vs Battery Powered Chainsaws?

One of the key things I look for when trying to find the right chainsaw, is just what powers it. The main three types are gas, electric, and battery powered chainsaws. All three have there pros and cons that make them all uniquely different, but deciding what the right one for you is a difficult question.

Electric Vs Battery Chainsaw ComparisonsElectric Vs Battery Chainsaw Comparisons

Electric chainsaws are a lot more common now days and work really well for the average home user. They have a few advantages and a few disadvantages, but they are still a quality design choice. One of the things that I really like about electric is just how easy they are to start, there is no exceedingly long process they just start right up. They are also a lot more quiet compared to a gas chainsaw, which is a nice bonus. They also don’t require as much maintenance as a gas machine, so if you’re not the most mechanically minded person this is a nice plus. Tho no matter your tool you should still do maintenance on it, look after your tool, it will look after you.

There are also a few downsides to an electric model, but none of them are deal breakers in my opinion. They don’t have as much power as a gas chainsaw which is a pretty big downside, if you need a larger tree limb remove. Tho electrics have gotten a lot more powerful over the past few years. The biggest disadvantage to an electric chainsaw, is the need for a power outlet nearby. The need to have multiple heavy gauge extension leads can be a little frustrating, when you need something cut that is over 50 feet away. This is the biggest downside to an electric model to me personally.

Battery Powered

Battery powered chainsaws can be very hit and miss, which certainly makes them a difficult unit to choose. They have some advantages over the electric counter parts in some ways, but a few disadvantages as well. Not having to worry about having extension leads is a nice touch, compared to the electric. They are also quieter then a gas unit which is still a nice bonus for the ears. Just like electric they have also gotten more powerful over the past few years, which is a great advantage when you can cut anywhere. Depending on the make and battery some units let you use the battery for other tools of the same brand, so having multiple tools with the same battery can be a massive bonus.

I think the downside to a battery powered chainsaw is pretty obvious, but how much of a downside is it really? The obvious downside is that you can only cut as long as you have a battery that has a charge, which can get a little frustrating at times. Unless you have a second battery charging. While this certainly can be a problem with smaller battery chainsaws, the tasks you will be using these kinds of saws for won’t be taking to long to do. So having a saw that can hold its charge for an hour might be enough to get through what you need, without the need for extension leads.

Gas Powered

There is no secret that I personally prefer gas powered chainsaws, they have a lot of advantages compared to there counterparts and very little disadvantages in my opinion. The biggest advantage of a gas powered chainsaw is that they are generally more powerful then other units on the market. Having the ability to remove 80% of the trees and cutting most logs is a great advantage to me. Most professionals will go with the gas option thanks to there power, which is a key thing for a chainsaw. There is no need to worry about having a power outlet and extension leads with a gas unit.

There are a couple of downsides to a gas unit, but none of them are deal breakers in my opinion. They are very noisy when you’re operating them at high revs so you should wear ear plugs. Having enough gas before you start cutting is a bit of a drawback, but not really a big issue. The thing I have noticed is a lot of beginners get concerned at having to perform maintenance on the gas engines. While this isn’t an issue for myself, I know it is for others so it was something you should consider.

What Size Chainsaw Bar Do I Need?

The size of the bar is a very important thing to consider, depending on what bar size you choose will help in deciding what work it can handle. Having a longer bar means you can cut more with a single pass, but a longer bar needs more power. So having a long bar on a small engine unit will do more harm then good. So having the right bar size is crucial to what your tasks are.

Chainsaw Bar Length Comparison

8 Inch To 16 Inch Bars

These size bars are the more common sized bars that are great for small time users, who won’t be cutting the largest of trees. They excel at trimming and removing smaller trees, and there limbs. So they are a great all round size for a saw. Tho they have one advantage that I really like compared to the larger bars. This is if you need to cut something that doesn’t have a lot of room, the smaller bar is a lot more maneuverable then a larger 20 inch bar. They are also lighter then the larger bars, so this just makes them excellent for these smaller tight space jobs.

The only downside to these sized bars is that they can’t really handle the larger tasks. Even with a larger more powerful engine, you would be better off swapping it for a larger bar in this case. But they excel at what they’re designed for which is the most important thing.

16 Inch To 18 Inch Bars

Once you get to these sizes the size of trees and logs you can cut gets a bit bigger, giving them more versatility compared to the smaller guide bars. At this size they’re more designed to remove smaller trees and removing tree limbs, which is something they excel at. It can also handle doing the smaller tasks like pruning and light trimming, just not as well as the smaller bars. See my recommended 18 inch Chainsaws here.

18 Inch To 20 Inch Bars

This is where chainsaws really start to open up what they can do, at this size they can handle most things. While they can handle larger 20 inch trees and logs, they are better suited for things a bit smaller. Most medium sized trees that are between 10 to 15 inches in diameter won’t stand a chance against a bar this size, with the right engine attached. This sized bar can also handle those smaller jobs as well, but you will start to find issues if you don’t have a lot of room to cut since they are a fair bit longer then the smaller bars.

20 Inch And Above

If you need a bar of this size then you’re getting into the more professional grade level equipment, which does get costly. Tho this does come with one serious advantage that I personally really like. Which is that there isn’t a whole lot you can’t cut through at this size, especially if you have a powerful 60 to 70cc engine attached to it. So if you have some serious cutting ahead of you then this is where I would personally recommend going.

How Much The Chainsaw Weighs

This is a surprisingly important question to find out, since sometimes you will be operating a chainsaw for several hours. So having a 20 lbs plus chainsaw will get really tiring after a few hours of use. So if you’re not the strongest person you will want to go with something a bit lighter, more around the 10 lbs mark. Tho this will most likely come with a rather large power drop, but I feel it’s better to be safe then sorry when operating a chainsaw.

Brand Power

The brand of a chainsaw is a lot more important then you would think and not just about recommending the most well known companies. The reason choosing the right brand is so important to me, is replacement parts. Chainsaws do a lot of work and no matter how good you are at operating, and maintaining them. Breakdowns will happen and getting new parts will eventually happen. So having a chainsaw with an unknown brand could mean finding the right parts to fix can be next to impossible. But going with someone like Husqvarna or Stihl you won’t have this issue, which is an important factor to me.

Knowing what companies have local sources is also extremely useful, and most big manufacturers will have a local mechanic nearby for warranty issues if the need arises. So this is something I consider important, and you should to. Especially if you’re aren’t confident in your own mechanical skills.

Price Point

Some chainsaws can be extremely expensive and have a lot of features you won’t actually need. So spending $500 on a chainsaw might not be the best choice for you, and you only need to spend $200 or so. Tho in some cases it is better to spend that bit extra just to cover your bases, especially if you live in an area that gets a lot storms. The unexpectedness of a storm taking out a large tree can be prevented if you remove the tree beforehand, which is one of the few cases it’s worth going with something stronger then you would think you would need.

Finding the right price point is a difficult task since you can’t always plan for the unexpected. Thankfully the smaller tasks will require a much cheaper chainsaw that is around $200, and medium tasks will be between $200 and $400. The larger tasks will require to spend more, but you will get more back for your buck, but it will cost over $400 which is a lot to ask.

Extra Features To Look For?

Chainsaws have a variety of features that made to improve your quality of life which is something you should look for. Some are more useful then others and should be something you should look for more then some of the others. Such as a low kickback bars and chains which is an extremely important safety feature. Thankfully most modern chainsaws have these features now days. The next thing to look for is a chain brake which is another important safety feature, that can help prevent injury.

Having a anti vibration system is a great quality of life feature, that makes extended periods of use much more comfortable on the user. One of my personal favorite quality of life feature is a automatic oiling system which will lubricate the chain as you cut, this makes life a lot easier and means less maintenance overall. Tool-less chain adjustment is another quality of life improvement that I really like. while it isn’t difficult to adjust the chain manually with a tool, not having to go find the right tools just makes life that little bit easier.

One thing I would look for in a gas chainsaw is a spring assisted start system which will help reduce the amount of force you need to pull start it. Which your shoulders will thank you for. Most chainsaws have a air cleaning feature which will help keep the air filter cleaner, which will give it an extended life which is something I like. Some chainsaws come with a carry case which will help protect the saw and bar, which will extend the life of the chainsaw. So a very useful selling point.

What Are The Top 10 Best Chainsaws?

With all that in mind it is time to find out just what are the top 10 best chainsaws really are. To find this out I have gone thought thousands of reviews, with countless hours of researching and testing to find the best of the best. This was a difficult list to make since there are so many great chainsaws on the market, with only some small things deciding the top units.

10 – Black+Decker 20V 10 Inch Chainsaw

10 - Black+Decker 20V 10 Inch ChainsawJust because this Black+Decker is at number 10 doesn’t mean it’s bad, it still had to beat out hundreds of other chainsaws on the market. It has fought hard and earned this prestigious place. It is a battery powered chainsaw so it does have a few advantages and disadvantages, which I went over above. The battery is a 20V Max Lithium battery, which is an impressive little battery. It takes roughly between 4 and 5 hours to fully charge the battery, so it is recommended to always plan for this.

Depending on how hard you push this chainsaw will determine how long it will hold its charge. It is easily able to get over 30 minutes of of work time for small jobs, and the occasional stressful cut. But if you will be pushing this thing to its limits it’s a bit on the short side in my opinion. For the most intense jobs of cutting through a 10 inch in diameter elm tree limbs it lasted about 25 minutes. Tho in this time it did do close to 80 cuts, so it did get through a lot in that short time.

It has a 10 inch low kick back bar, that is made by Oregon who is the leading bar and chain makers in my opinion. This is a smart design choice by Black+Decker, it gives you peace of mind knowing you have a quality bar on this chainsaw. It is a very lightweight chainsaw that only weighs around 7.2 lbs. So it won’t cause to much arm tiredness after extended periods of use.

What I Like About The B+D Chainsaw

  • The low kick back bar designed by Oregon is a big selling point to me, and it is something you should consider in your purchase.
  • It comes with a tool-free tension system which is something I like. Just a nice quality of life improvement.
  • With how light it is made it quite valuable for people who aren’t able to lift as much, for long periods of time.
  • It does have the option to go with a 40V battery and 12 inch bar. But it is more expensive, but it is a nice option.

9 – Sun Joe 18 Inch Electric Chainsaw

9 - Sun Joe 18 Inch Electric ChainsawOut of all the chainsaws on this list, this was the biggest surprise to me. This is a very impressive “little” chainsaw that has a 14 amp electric motor. Which is decently strong and can get through a variety of things. It will be able to handle almost any thing that is 10 inches in diameter. It was able to cut through some larger trees but they were soft woods, so having the 18 inch bar really helped with this. Tho it did stall out when it was 3/4s through a 28 inch maple, which was pretty impressive but ran the chainsaw to a rather high temperature. So I wouldn’t recommend doing this very often.

One thing I really like about this chainsaw is that it has a self lubricating Oregon bar and chain. This is a great quality of life improvement that I really like, and hope more chainsaws would include this feature. Tho this chainsaw is thirsty and you will go through a fair bit of this oil, so you will need to pay attention to it. A minor inconvenience to a great convenient feature, I just wish they could of worked this issue out and it probably would of been higher on this list.

For such a big chainsaw it is surprisingly light which was unexpected. Weighing only 9.7 lbs which is one of the lighter chainsaws on this list at this size, which is a great advantage. In my opinion this is one of the best chainsaws for the average home owner, who needs to cut through slightly larger logs then normal. Or just want to be more prepared for cutting something larger then you plan on.

Things I Liked About The Sun Joe 18 Inch Chainsaw

  • A really powerful electric chainsaw, that has very little set backs that makes it the perfect addition to most peoples tool sheds.
  • The self lubricating bar and chain is a real pleasure to use, it’s nice knowing you’re not going to over heat your chainsaw.
  • I really like how light this chainsaw is for its size, only weighing 9.7 lbs with such a large bar is useful with extended periods of use.

8 – Oregon 18 Inch Electric Chainsaw

8 - Oregon 18 Inch Electric ChainsawI imagine so far you would have noticed my preference to Oregon bars and chains, so how good is there chainsaw? It’s actually really impressive, I was concerned they would only excel at bars and chains. But that isn’t the case with this 15 amp electric chainsaw. This 15 amp motor gave this chainsaw the ability to easily get through 12 inch in diameter logs. It can also cut logs and trees that are larger thanks to its 18 inch bar, but again you don’t want to push it to hard.

One of the most overwhelming things for beginners is the maintenance you have to do on chainsaws. This is where this chainsaw shines in my eyes thanks to its self sharpening system which I’m a big fan of. If you are unsure on sharpening a chain then this is a great feature, and just a nice time saver. Even if you know how to sharpen a chainsaw this is still a really nice quality of life improvement.

It isn’t the heaviest or lightest saw weighing roughly 13 lbs, which is heavier then the previous chainsaws. But this isn’t a turn off for me, it still never really felt heavy after extended periods of use. Tho I did notice this chainsaw just get hot a little quicker then I would like , so more then any other saw it is a necessity to keep the chain lubricated properly. You should always keep your chain lubricated but I felt it was more of a concern with this chainsaw, but far from a deal breaker.

What I Like About The Oregon

  • The obvious thing is the self sharpening system which is a massive quality of life improvement, but can also save you money. If you’re aren’t confident in sharpening a chain, some people will take it to a store to get it sharpened, which this features stops this.
  • The 15 amp motor and 18 inch bar work really well together, making cutting medium sized trees down with very little effort.
  • I really like the tool-less chain tension system, making this chainsaw even more beginner friendly then most other chainsaws.

7 – Makita 18V 14 Inch Battery Powered Chainsaw

7 - Makita 18V 14 Inch Battery Powered ChainsawMakitas first entry on this list, and surprisingly lower then you would think, when you think of such highly regarded brand. This is a unique battery chainsaw by the fact it uses two batteries at once which really puts this thing at 36V of power. This is quite a nice touch that only has one disadvantage. I do find that this thing holds its charge for quite a little while, depending on what you’re cutting. The more intense tasks will drain it quickly and only last about 40 minutes. But if you’re doing light work this thing was able to handle about 2 hours. The only downside to this two battery system, is that you need to have more then a single spare battery. Which is why I chose the model that came with 2 extra batteries.

It does come with a 14 inch bar which is a good size, but I would of preferred this to come with a larger bar. You can swap it for another bar if you would like, but just a little note. Tho with this 14 inch bar and motor this thing excels at handling those smaller jobs with no issue. It can get through some larger things, but the smaller bar does make it take a little longer. It can easily get through trees and limbs that are 10 inches in diameter.

As with all Makita tools the batteries can be interchanged, as long as they are the same type of battery. Which are the 18V LXT Lithium-Ion 5.0Ah batteries which do work with a few other tools. So if you have a few Makita tools with this type of battery you can save yourself a few dollars, and only get the saw itself. Which is a good thing since this is an expensive chainsaw, and can be a bit much to ask for if you only want smaller jobs done. It’s also a very heavy chainsaw due to the extra battery weighing at 22.3lbs.

What I Like About The Battery Powered Makita Chainsaw

  • I really like how long this battery powered chainsaw can last, which does help with one of the bigger problems of a battery chainsaw.
  • I like having the two extra batteries which gives you peace of mind, knowing you have back ups charged and ready if you got larger tasks ahead.
  • The variable speed trigger is a great feature, which really helps when you hit a stubborn part of a tree and need that extra bit of power.

6 – Makita 16 Inch Electric Chainsaw

6 - Makita 16 Inch Electric ChainsawIt’s hard to do a top 10 list on chainsaws and not having a Makita chainsaw or two on the list. This is a powerful electric chainsaw that has 14.5amp electric motor. It has plenty of power and will get through a lot of work, as long as you don’t force it. I see too many people who put way to much pressure on there saw, which isn’t good. This unit is the prime example of this in my opinion.

The 16 inch bar is made by Makita themselves, which is a good thing. Since who knows what works best for there tool, then the company who designed it. Tho you can change it to Oregon bar if you do prefer them, which is something I personally prefer. But it isn’t a deal breaker not having it, especially with how good this bar is.

While this is a great chainsaw and on its quality alone deserves to be higher on the list. But one of the things that you will find with Makita tools is that they’re more expensive then a lot of other chainsaws at this level. So if you’re on a budget then I would look at one of the other chainsaws on this list. But if price isn’t the main concern then this is a chainsaw I highly recommend.

What I Like About The Electric Makita

  • This is one of the more powerful electric chainsaws on the market which got though a lot of logs, without any issue. With some of these being 14 inch pine.
  • I really like how easy this chainsaw starts, and just how quiet it is for a chainsaw.
  • It does weigh about 15.2 lbs so it is a bit on the heavier side, but it felt good holding this chainsaw.

The ECHO CS-590 Timber Wolf has already taken a place of deep respect from the consumer community for two important reasons. The first is the impressive quality that that delivers power to the task and a convenient usage system. It is also an especially ponderous unit weighing in at a full 17 pounds.

Here, we see the quality 59.8cc professional-grade 2-stroke engine, that will have no problem slicing through anything you can throw at it. This means that tasks of clearing land, collecting firewood or cleaning up after storms is an easy task.

3 – DEWALT FLEXVOLT 60V MAX Chainsaw

3 - DEWALT FLEXVOLT 60V MAX Chainsaw
From the well-known manufacturers of a long list of electronic power tools comes the DeWalt Flexvolt 60V chainsaw, a unit that just might change your mind about the electric option. Power it has, and also a much lighter weight and comfortable design than can be found in a gas-powered unit. And you’ll find a few other nice features that make this a great garden and cleanup tool
The 60V DeWalt motor is powered from a 3.0AH battery, which offers impressive power for an extended period of time. While it is hard to determine exactly how much that would be, some reviewers have reported enough power for a full hour of work while other mentioned it died after about 30 mins. It really depends on the amount of cutting you are doing, though manufacturers set rate at 70 cuts per charge.

The DeWalt Flexvolt also features an impressive 16” Oregon Bar and Chain that is especially suited to cutting through a variety of branches and even construction materials. The low kick back design improves the usability. Reviewers have also mentioned some differences in the logs cut. Some reports, with photographic evidence, show the Flexvolt slicing through a 25”log with no problem at all. Other reviewers set this at 6”- 10” logs and bolts.

During use, you can expect continuous lubrication from the auto-oiling unit and the oil reservoir is easily refilled with the quarter-turn access point. In addition to the low-kick back feature, you will find a chain brake to ensure there are no accidents.

Some of the best things about this option would be the convenient size and weight of the unit, making it excellent for smaller jobs that won’t leave you exhausted. On the other hand, the chain tension adjuster is a bit inconvenient and the amount of work that can be accomplished is somewhat limited.

2 – Husqvarna 455 20-Inch Chainsaw

2 - Husqvarna 455 20-Inch Chainsaw
Husqvarna an important name in the world of top-quality chainsaws, and the 550 Rancher is a gas-powered beauty that exemplifies their high-standards. Powerful and reliable are the first two words that come to mind when describing performance. Weighing in at 16.4 pounds, it is also a pretty ponderous tool as well and best for those with the arm to wield it.

The 550 Rancher features a 20-inch bar and a 55.5 cc. 2-stroke engine making it the best options for logs and bolts up to 18” in diameter. This makes it quite suitable for the work of a professional arborist, but is actually the ideal thing for cutting firewood logs down to size. With an air injection feature, cylindrical force ensures that the engine and air filter itself will be unaffected by the fine dust that can impact the efficacy of lesser models. This in itself greatly increases the longevity of the tool and the reduces the need to swap out air filters.

The Husqvarna X-Torq engine significantly reduces VOC emissions and improves the energy consumption required for work. This also makes the 550 Ranger CARB compliant and a suitable tool for an environmentally friendly backyard paradise. While gloves are still recommended for extended use, the low vibration features make the long periods of work somewhat more manageable.

All around this machine has the capacity to address all the needs a large property or ranch could have for tree care, firewood and more. It is reliable enough for years of services and can cut through the vast majority of logs you’ll encounter in these environments.

1 – Husqvarna 460 Rancher Powered Chainsaw

1 - Husqvarna 460 Rancher Powered Chainsaw
Husqvarna is a name that carries some weight when looking for a dependable tool. The Husqvarna 460 is a powerful support to heavy duty work and is the closest thing you can get to a lumberjack’s implement in a 20-inch bar presentation. Professional performance and dependability despite considerable workloads or extended time without use are the major selling points for this beast.

The Husqvarna 460 is equipped with a 3-piece crankshaft and 3.62 HP that can make quick work of the thickest bolts and tree trunks that a professional arborist may see. Better yet, the top-quality manufacturing and components ensure it will continue to do so for years to come. Despite its considerable power (and weight), it also features an easy to use design that makes starting and working a breeze.

The advanced X-Torq engine has been designed to comply with CARB specifications for reducing harmful VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) in your immediate environment. The highly reduced exhaust emissions from this X-Torq also ensure you use less gas power to complete more work. The air injection feature ensures dust from cutting dry wood and other contaminants never enters and compromises the inner engine functions.

Smart Start and Air Purge features keep the carburetor ready for a responsive start, meaning less pulls and priming. There is also an adjustable oil-dispenser so you can apply exactly the lubrication you need depending on the weather conditions and a side-mounted chain tensioner is strategically located for easy access. So that you can pick up the chain if you feel it dangling.

A chainsaw of this caliber is the last option before professional grade tools and most homeowners would do well with something a bit smaller. Nevertheless, the Husqvarna 460 is a beast of a machine that will handle all kinds of jobs with ease. Whether you will be maintaining a large property, chopping firewood or just cleaning up after a storm, this is the tool for you.

Wearing The Appropriate Gear

Operating a chainsaw is a dangerous job so wearing the appropriate gear is something everyone needs to do, I have seen some horrible accidents due to people not wearing the appropriate gear. Tho the most important bit of safety gear is knowledge. When using a chainsaw you should always wear some chaps or cut resistant pants. I would highly recommend wearing some protective gloves that have some sort of enhanced grip surface, to help with vibration and keeping a grip on the chainsaw.

You should always wear some proper eye protection that has side shields on them, the last thing you want is a bit of wood come flying off into your eye, not to mention all the dust. Steel cap boots are something that I highly recommend, since you are going to be cutting some larger trees. You really don’t one of them to fall on your foot while you’re wearing sandals! Chainsaws are extremely loud when they are going full bore through a tree, so you should always wear some ear plugs or ear muffs. This is one of the most important pieces of protection gear in my eyes. If you’re going to be cutting above your head then I would also recommend a hard hat for safety.

  • Some kind of leg protection, such as chaps or cut resistant pants.
  • Protective gloves with a enhanced grip surface.
  • A hard hat when cutting, especially if you’re cutting above your head.
  • Eye protection with shields on the side.
  • Steel capped boots or shoes, preferably with some non slip soles.
  • Ear plugs or ear muffs to protect your ears from the loud noise.
